Oberliga Berlin

1945 - 1963

After the second world war all clubs in Berlin were dissolved and replaced by by teams of the local districts. In 1947 it was possible again to found clubs and one year later is was allowed to use the old club names again. In 1945 there already started a championchip. There were four groups and the winner of each group reached the final. Three teams of each group were qualified for the new Stadtliga Berlin 1946/47. Until 1950 the leagues contained teams from both West and East Berlin. In 1950 the teams from the East had to withdraw due to political reasons. Due to this situation some clubs from were splitted into two parts where one part stayed in the East where the other part formed a new club in the West.
